The course prepares professionals to work safely in hazardous areas by providing the basic knowledge required to apply explosion protection principles and safety procedures.
2. Who should take this course?
The course is intended for professionals who work or will work in facilities classified as hazardous areas or explosive atmospheres.
3. Does the course follow any recognized standard?
Yes. The course follows the program content and training requirements established for the Ex 000 and Ex 001 Skills Units described in the ABENDI certification manual.
4. What will participants learn?
Participants will learn about explosion risks, hazardous areas, safety procedures, work permits, monitoring equipment, inspection procedures, documentation, emergency actions and Ex protection methods.
5. Does the course cover occupational safety responsibilities?
Yes. It includes occupational health and safety responsibilities related to hazardous areas and explosion protection.
6. Are Ex-certified equipment covered during the training?
Yes. The course covers Ex certification systems, Ex protection principles and the characteristics of different Ex protection types.
7. Does the course address equipment inspections?
Yes. Participants learn visual inspection procedures and how to identify non-conformities that may affect the integrity of Ex-protected equipment.
8. Are emergency procedures included in the course?
Yes. The training covers emergency-related procedures and actions to be taken when hazardous conditions or non-conformities are identified.

The course covers Ex ‘d’, Ex ‘e’, Ex ‘n’, Ex ‘m’, Ex ‘o’, Ex ‘q’, Ex ‘i’, Ex ‘p’, Ex ‘t’, Ex ‘iD’, Ex ‘pD’, Ex ‘mD’, as well as features common to Ex protection types.
